The Digital Manufacturing Centre (DMC) has announced that it will be partnering with AMFG and adopting its software for all additive manufacturing (AM) orders and machinery. Known as the industry’s leading Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) software for additive manufacturing, AMFG’s portal will provide the DMC an end-to-end workflow automation solution for its AM operations.
Powering the Digital Manufacturing Centre’s centralised operations digitally, AMFG’s software will be a crucial part of the DMC’s overall operations strategy. Having a comprehensive view of efficiencies, outputs, orders and machine capabilities, the software will be embedded into the DMC’s CAD and additive manufacturing machine data, which will provide real-time data of machine outputs and project management analysis of key builds.
Physically opening in Q1 2021, the Digital Manufacturing Centre is an independent, technology agnostic production facility focusing on additive manufacturing. Specialising in metal and polymer AM materials and machinery, the DMC’s objective is to be a technology partner to its clients and provide them with serial production parts and technology solutions. Maximising quality, efficiencies and project managing each production part and client timeline will be a critical success factor.
The partnership will result in the Digital Manufacturing Centre becoming a development consultant, contributing to the innovation roadmap of the AMFG system, for bespoke DMC requirements and the wider additive manufacturing community, in its pursuit of industry 4.0.
“This is a key step for the business and a great demonstration of our commitment to connected technology and software in additive manufacturing,”
explains Kieron Salter, Digital Manufacturing Centre CEO.
“AMFG’s tools will allow us to monitor entire projects, view system capacities, but also be able to manage tight deadlines and projects within the DMC. This way, when a client asks us about our availability, we will be able to concretely respond confidently with accurate data, crucial in all parts of manufacturing – from prototyping to full production. Data is a valuable digital asset that we intend to exploit.”
“Working with multiple machines and data points is what the AMFG software was built to do, and we’re delighted that the DMC will be able to benefit from our streamlined software tools,”
said Keyvan Karimi, AMFG CEO.
“The fact that the DMC will have an array of different machine suppliers will enable the team to view each machine’s capacity, regardless of its brand, through our platform. I’m excited about this partnership and what AMFG assist the DMC to achieve.”
